Exploring the Colosseum and the Roman Forum in Rome

Discovering the Colosseum and the Roman Forum in Rome is an essential team-building activity during your corporate retreat. Rome is a city that possesses historic sites that are an integral part of the city’s identity, making it all the more interesting and surprising. During this activity, we offer a visit to the Colosseum, undoubtedly Rome’s most famous historical monument, as well as the Roman Forum, located right next to the Colosseum, in the most important archaeological site in Rome. We will provide you with a roadbook, detailing the itinerary you will take during this team-building, but also explaining the history of these emblematic sites and some important anecdotes to know everything about these places. First, you will go to the Colosseum, which is the emblem of Rome and recognized worldwide. Every year, more than 4 million visitors enter this place.

It is over 2000 years old and it’s one of the most beautiful symbols of the past greatness of the Roman Empire! Next, you will visit the Roman Forum, which was once the heart of the empire. The construction of the Circus Maximus was carried out to accommodate 150,000 people. But Caesar and Augustus expanded it to accommodate an additional 100,000, and under the reign of Emperor Trajan, the great circus reached 300,000 spectators. That means the grandeur of the Colosseum was three times the capacity of the Stade de France! Wooden seats gave way to stone seats; in 329 BC, the Carceres (starting stalls), wooden gates where participants positioned themselves before the race started, were installed, and shortly after, the spina, the element around which the races took place. At both ends of the spina were the metas, consisting of three Ionic pillars constructed in 174 BC. This spina, measuring 334 m long, was adorned with various decorative elements such as statues and dolphins. The site eventually became a political, religious, and commercial center: the Forum, filled with majestic and extravagant temples, palaces, and shops, and populated by people from all corners of the empire. The discovery of the Colosseum and the Roman Forum in Rome is a visit made with the whole group. Thus, it’s a real moment of sharing and cohesion with your colleagues. Discovering the Colosseum and the Roman Forum in Rome is a must-do during your corporate trip. This team-building will dazzle you! You will return home with many memories in your head.
