The Francofolies

Taking place every year in July, the Francofolies de la Rochelle is a music festival that gathers more than 150,000 people annually! Known throughout France and abroad, people attend the Francofolies for the taste of French music in an idyllic setting! Indeed, located at the foot of the Saint Nicolas tower, the festival is just a short walk from the center of La Rochelle and the Old Port. Its ideal location will allow you to make the most of the city where everything can be done on foot. The train station, located a few minutes’ walk from the center, will enable you to fully enjoy all the city’s facilities.

La Rochelle, a port city on the Atlantic coast, welcomes thousands of people each summer to its famous Francofolies festival. Created in 1984, this festival has made a name for all lovers of French music! The entire city comes alive with concerts and shows during the festival’s few days. Big names have performed at the festival stages: Bashung, Léo Ferré, Cabrel, Johnny Hallyday, Véronique Sanson, Les Rita Mitsouko, Enrico Macias, and many others…

Aside from the festival, take the time to stroll through the charming alleys of the downtown area. You will discover architecture that gives an authentic charm to this city called the “white city”. Guy de Maupassant wrote in 1886, “It is truly a bizarre and characterful city, La Rochelle, with its streets mixed up like a labyrinth and whose sidewalks run under endless galleries, arcades like those of the Rue de Rivoli […]” Enjoy an ice cream at the essential ice cream shop, Ernest, sip a glass of white wine accompanied by fresh oysters at a bar in the Old Port, take a moment to relax on the Minimes beach with its view of the lighthouse at the end of the world… There are plenty of reasons to organize your corporate retreat in La Rochelle!
