Day 1

Arrival at Beijing International Airport. The city of Beijing was founded by Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty in 1402.

Welcome by your French-speaking local guide and transfer to the hotel.

Transfer to a massage parlor for 1 hour of Reflexology (massage of the feet, head, neck, and shoulders).

Departure for a rickshaw ride through the Hutongs.

Traditional lunch by Lake Houhai.

Transfer to the pier to take the boat through the succinct canals used by Empress Ci Xi every summer, to travel from the Forbidden City to the Summer Palace where she stayed during the hottest months of the season.

Arrival at the Summer Palace and tour of the Palace. In December 1998, UNESCO included the Summer Palace in its World Heritage list.

Dinner at a restaurant located in the heart of the Summer Palace: traditional Chinese imperial court cuisine will be offered to you.

Day 2

Tai-chi session. Derived from traditional martial arts, tai-chi is a Chinese-origin body discipline that helps improve flexibility and strengthen the musculoskeletal system.

Rally Day discovering the Imperial Beijing: each team will depart with a different itinerary provided in the form of a map and riddles, along with a questionnaire to complete.

A visit to Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, a traditional pharmacy, the Lama Temple, the Drum Tower, a tea house, the Temple of Heaven, and the antique street will be part of the rally.

Lunch at Bei Hai Park, a former imperial garden. The waitresses in traditional attire lead you to the main room of the restaurant, where high ceilings and traditional Chinese paintings transport you centuries back.

Dine in a restaurant founded in 1864 when Emperor Tongzhi was leading the Qing Dynasty, this restaurant has been named the number 1 restaurant in China.

Day 3

Transfer to the grand Panjiayuan market, where people from all provinces come to the capital to sell all kinds of knick-knacks. There, one can find absolutely everything: from semi-precious stones to military picks, as well as furniture, minority costumes, porcelains, paintings, and calligraphy.

Chinese fondue lunch at a traditional restaurant where waitresses greet you in costumes from the last dynasty. This restaurant is situated in the former residence of an emperor’s favorite.

Calligraphy introductory workshop.

Return to the hotel and free time for shopping.
